Cloud Forest
The mysterious, yet beautiful cloud forests of Minca are fabulous for bird watching, hiking Los Pinos, swimming at Marinka Waterfall and visiting the famous Casa Elemento hammock which offers panoramic views.
Monkey Sanctuary
The open air sanctuary allows the monkeys total freedom of the jungle, but with most having been previously domesticated illegally, they rely on the food provided by the sanctuary making them inquisitive and friendly.

Arrive at Bogota airport where you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation or go out and explore on one of our optional tours.

The following morning you'll be transferred back to the airport for your connection to Leticia, a small town in the heart of the Amazon bordering Brazil. From there you will travel down the Amazon river to your riverside accommodation. Once you are settled in, you'll explore the jungle with your guide before returning to your accommodation for dinner.

Early morning nature excursion looking for monkeys, birds and unusual insects before returning for breakfast. Relax for the rest of the afternoon until your river excursion looking for wildlife along the banks of the river and of course the indigenous pink dolphin. After dinner, you can join the night walk which is ideal for those who like the small insects and frogs as much of the jungle comes alive at night time.

On your final morning, you'll hike to the nearby monkey sanctuary deep in the jungle where you are likely to enjoy a warm welcome from the resident monkeys. Then you'll be transferred back to the airport for your connecting flight to Armenia in the coffee region and ultimately stopping at the picturesque Andean town of Salento.

Today you'll have the opportunity to either relax and explore the town at your leisure or sign up for one of the many excursions in the area from hiking in the nearby national park to coffee tasting or a walking tour of the town.

You will travel through the vast foothills of the Andes mountain range, where you will not only get to enjoy the scenery but you will sample, taste and learn about coffee producing and one of the bigger producers in the area. By late afternoon you will arrive in the authentic and quaint town of Salamina.

Early morning leisurely hike to a small, family-run coffee farm where you will observe the more rural, basic production of coffee before sampling the coffee. Once back at your accommodation in Salamina, you'll check out, before starting your journey to Medellin, the home of Pablo Escobar.

After breakfast, you'll travel further along the coast towards Santa Marta before heading inland and ascending to a nearby town of Minca, situated within a beautiful cloud forest. Binoculars
Not essential but will likely enhance your experience so do bring binoculars if you or any of your friends have them! Alternatively, if you have one, your camera zoom may help.
Language
If you don't speak Spanish then we highly recommend you bring a phrase book to help you get by as many of the locals won't speak English and most of the menus will be in Spanish.
Malaria
There is malaria throughout much of Colombia but it is largely low risk with the exception of the Amazon which a high risk area. We recommend taking malarone tablets just in case.
Clothing
No matter what time of year you travel packing will be a challenge as when you are in the high areas you'll need to keep warm and it's the exact opposite in the jungles and Caribbean coast.
As a tour operator we are not able to offer inclusive flights as part of our experiences however we are more than happy to help you find the most appropriate incoming and outgoing flights for you. All the listed airports fly directly in and out of Bogota. If you are willing to connect there are various other options. We highly recommend using Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights.
Domestic flights will also need to be organised, which we can assist you wish.
Internal flights typically cost £200 - £250 per person for all the connections listed above. The flights may vary from trip to trip depending on the season so if you decide you’d like to proceed then just let us know and we’ll provide you with all the information you need.
