Finland
A magical night in a glass igloo under the stars and the Aurora Borealis in a once in a lifetime experience which will stay with you for a lifetime. Based within the Arctic circle in Finland's Lapland it's impossible not be enchanted by this winter wonderland.
WHERE YOU'RE GOING
Lapland is a remote, relatively untouched territory located in the Arctic Circle that offers one of the best places to see the Northern Lights. It’s impossible not to be taken in by the natural beauty of the pristine blankets of snow that cover the pine forests and frozen lakes. The temperatures in peak winter can reach very frosty temperatures—some way below zero—so it’s best to wrap up warm and keep yourself busy. Fortunately, there is plenty to keep you occupied whether you’re wanting to get active or simply relax.

"Naturally everyone wants to see the Northern Lights but there are no guarantees. Lapland is well worth visiting regardless which is worth remembering if you aren't lucky enough to see them."

Pack Appropriately
Be sure to check the weather forecast before you travel as, unsurprisingly it can get very cold in the arctic circle, it was -32 on our last visit! So proper winter gear is likely to be required.
Aurora Borealis App
There are various apps which monitor the Aurora Borealis. We provide the best for you, it is surprisingly accurate so it will let you know in advance if the lights are going to appear.
Try Avoid the Full Moon
Clear, dark skies are the perfect conditions for the Northern Lights to appear, so avoid full moons if possible. The full moon won't restrict you seeing the lights, but it won't be as clear.
Local Prices
Scandinavia is expensive and Finland is no exception. It's best to acknowledge this and avoid comparing the value of everything to what you'd receive back home.
As a tour operator we are not able to offer inclusive flights as part of our experiences however we are more than happy to help you find the most appropriate incoming and outgoing flights for you. All the listed airports fly directly in and out of Bucharest with multiple different airlines to choose from. We highly recommend using Skyscanner to find the cheapest flights.
INSURANCE
In order to be fully covered on your trip should anything happen, we suggest getting an insurance before you travel. We recommend True Traveller, designed especially for adventure travel, who will be able to tailor an insurance package based on your needs. You can find out more here.
SOLO TRAVELLERS
Our prices are based on people sharing, for solo travellers who would prefer a private room the price per person will include a solo occupancy fee.
EXTRA NIGHTS
If you wish we can also organise extra nights at either end of your trip for you.
