If you’re softly humming carol tunes after last week’s article, then this one’s for you. Everyone loves Christmas Markets, but you know us, we’d take it up a notch… Untravelled Paths have a number of epic experiences combined with magical Christmas Market over the festive period. See below for some Christmas cheer.

Ljubljana Christmas Markets + Husky Sledging

Slovenia’s capital, Ljubljana, is like a fairytale town already. With colourful houses, cobbled streets, and its castle presiding over the city, it is impossible not to fall to its charms. Well preserved medieval buildings now house local designer shops, cafes, and restaurants, making it the perfect place to wander and explore. Then add the perfect icing on the cake with a Christmas market and you really won’t want to leave. Unless of course, you fancy heading towards the mountains to drive your own team of huskies. Does that sound like fun? Well, if the answer’s yes, then have a look at our Husky Experience.

Puglia Christmas Markets + Delicious Cuisine

Puglia is renowned for its authentic Italian character, traditions, and incredible food. The secret to their fine cuisine is simple, fresh ingredients. With Italy being a religious catholic country they certainly take their festive season seriously. In return, we get a pick of Christmas markets in the area. So, if you like fine wine, delicious, fresh food, culinary activities, pretty local towns, and Christmas markets then we’d highly recommend our Christmas Dolce Vita Experience. Visit the Christmas Markets at Putignano with its crafts, music and magic. Lecce awaits with it’s famous Fiera dei Pupi (puppet fair). Lastly, Scorrano will spark the Christmas cheer up with the street illuminations.

Bucharest, Brasov & Sibiu Christmas Markets + Dracula’s Castle

A magical festive adventure, taking in Transylvania’s beautiful medieval towns and not just one but three Christmas markets! First up you have Bucharest which is littered with Christmas lights all through December. Then comes Brasov and its incredibly festive square towered by the giant Christmas Tree (pictured). Finally, we have, arguably the best of all, the Sibiu Christmas Market complete with its own ice skating rink. Combine all this with visits to the magnificent Peles Castle and the infamous Dracula’s Castle. If that’s piqued your interest then have a look at our Transylvania Christmas Markets Experience which includes all of these.

Seville & Cordoba Christmas Markets + The Iberian Lynx

Seville is undoubtably one of Spain’s most beautiful cities, also showcasing some of the country’s best tapas. However, in the winter season, it is also home to the vibrant Mercado Navideno de Artesania de Seville in the Plaza Nueva. The market is filled with unique local Andalusian crafts. There is also the Feria del Belen which is a Spanish Christmas market focusing on the nativity and Christmas trees.

With so much on offer, what more could you want? Well, how about searching Iberian Lynx, one of the world’s rarest cats. The winter season coincides with the Lynx mating season which makes the cats uncharacteristically easy to spot. Before you leave, you’ll get to visit the famous city of Cordoba which naturally is accompanied by the Mercado de Navidad which is a small but quaint Christmas market. So if Christmas spirit and cats are what you’re after, have a look at our Iberian Lynx Experience.
